Beginning English Language Classes / Clases de inglés para principiantes
Join us for a 10-week series to learn beginning English Language skills in a classroom. This class will provide a supportive and welcoming learning community that allows participants to learn and practice beginning levels of speaking, listening, reading and writing in English. English instruction and learning activities are focused on community services and the workplace/job seeking processes.
Course objectives:
- Demonstrate beginning reading, writing, speaking and listening skills in English
- Demonstrate understanding of simple spoken English
- Understand and use new vocabulary
- Understand and use Sno-Isle Libraries resources
- Gain familiarity with Edmonds College ELA programming
Classes are on Tuesdays 6-8pm, April 7th – June 9th. Participants will be expected to attend every class.
Registration is required to attend.
This class is for adults. Childcare is not provided.
These classes are made possible by the Sno-Isle Libraries Foundation and are presented by Edmonds College.
To request a sign language interpreter, complete this online form or contact your local library at least two weeks prior to the library event. Interpreters will be provided based on availability.

Estas clases se ofrecerán en un ambiente acogedor y amigable en el cual los participantes desarrollarán y aprenderán habilidades de escritura, lectura, expresión oral, y comprensión del idioma inglés. Las clases y las actividades se centran en servicios comunitarios y procesos de búsqueda de empleo.
Objetivos del curso:
- Demostrar habilidades básicas de lectura, escritura, expresión oral, y comprensión auditiva en el idioma inglés.
- Desarrollar habilidades para conversar con un inglés básico.
- Conocer, comprender, y utilizar vocabulario nuevo.
- Conocer y utilizar los recursos que ofrecen las bibliotecas de Sno-Isle.
- Familiarizarse con los programas de inglés como segundo idioma (ELA) de Edmonds College.
Las clases se impartirán los martes de 6:00 PM a 8:00 PM, del 7 abril al 9 de junio.
Se espera que los participantes asistan a todas las clases.
Es necesario registrarse.
