Historic Neon Signs of Seattle
Some say neon signs have always been more popular in the Pacific Northwest than just about anywhere else thanks to our dark and rainy weather. And, if you ask, pretty much everyone has at least one or two favorite neon signs in their neighborhood or on their commute. They're colorful and romantic, and they capture attention and create memories.
Broadcaster and historian Feliks Banel has been researching and producing radio and TV programs about neon signs for more than 20 years. In this presentation, he shares images and stories about some of his favorites, including a few anecdotes about collecting neon signs during his tenure as deputy director of Seattle's Museum of History & Industry (MOHAI).
