Event description

Mozzarella is a versatile and delicious cheese that requires very little in terms of supplies. Jessica Nemnich, owner-operator of Sweet-Lee Farms, will demonstrate how beginners can make fresh mozzarella in their own kitchens using homegrown or store-bought milk. Bonus: participants will have the chance to sample the cheesy fruits of her labor afterwards!

Sweet-Lee farm is owned and operated by the Nemnich family and is located west of Darrington at the foot of Whitehorse Mountain. With nearly two decades of experience as an agricultural educator, Jessica Nemnich has helped guide people through interactive lessons on growing plant- and animal-based food across diverse systems, including aquaponics, greenhouses, field crops, and both large and small animal operations. You can find more about the farm's philosophy and farming practices on their website.

This program will be a demonstration of skills, not a hands-on event.
