Protecting Kids from Sexual Abuse: A Series with LSPD's Kristin Parnell
Join Kristen Parnell from the Lake Stevens Police Department for the final seminar on keeping children safe from child molesters. This discussion focuses on what does and doesn’t work when it comes to protecting children. Additionally, it will explain treatment and re‑offense data, discuss warning signs that may indicate a child is at risk, and review prevention strategies adults can apply in everyday life. The session includes information about online dangers and tools for keeping kids safe in digital spaces.
Through training materials originally developed for law‑enforcement education, attendees will watch pre-recorded interviews with convicted offenders discussing the tactics they used to approach and select victims, as well as how they influenced the adults in their victims’ lives.
