Pruning Basics with WSU Master Gardeners
Pruning is essential for plant health, safety, and structure, as well as boosting flower and fruit production. It removes dead, diseased, or damaged branches, prevents hazards, and improves airflow and light penetration. Join Master Gardener Laura Cooper to learn the basics of pruning, including: when to prune, how to prune, what tools to use, and how to identify special cases.

Since 1973, WSU Master Gardeners have been developing programs to address the evolving needs of our communities. The program relies on university-trained volunteers to provide public education in gardening and environmental stewardship based on research at WSU and other university systems. From the beginning, they have provided free access to unbiased research-based horticulture advice to help people find answers to their gardening questions.
WSU Snohomish County Extension programs connect the people and communities of Snohomish County with the knowledge base of Washington State University to promote quality of life and advance economic well-being through fostering inquiry, learning, and the application of research.
