Darrington Friends of the Library Meeting
Please join the Darrington Friends of the Library for their meeting. This not-for-profit, volunteer organization was established in 1988.
The Friends raise funds through an ongoing sale of books and monetary donations, and they undertake projects and supply items that fall outside the established budget of their local library. The Darrington Friends of the Library support children’s, teens and adult programs, including craft supplies and snacks; and they purchase the prize books each year for the summer reading program. Additionally, if you have ever parked your bicycle in the outdoor bike shelter, borrowed one of the library's bike locks, or filled your water bottle at the bottle filling station in the lobby, you have enjoyed some of the provisions brought to the Darrington Library by our local Friends group.
It is the mission of the Darrington Friends of the Library:
- to educate the community on the Darrington Library's services, resources and needs;
- to nurture partnerships between the Darrington Library and the people it serves;
- to work with staff in maintaining a user-friendly facility and to support the creativity of the staff;
- to enrich and support the multi-faceted programs and services of the Library that reflect the diversity within the community; and
- to promote the freedom to explore intellectual, educational, and recreational interests.
