Join us on the 2nd Wednesday of the month for a fun, friendly discussion of diverse selections of historical fiction titles. Meet new friends, enjoy a love of books, or share a recent read from the comfort of your own space. This month we will be discussing Caleb's Crossing by Geraldine Brooks.
Inspired by true events, this historical novel follows Bethia Mayfield, a curious and intelligent young woman in 17th-century Martha’s Vineyard. Though denied formal education, she secretly befriends Caleb, a Wampanoag chieftain’s son, who later becomes the first Native American to graduate from Harvard. As cultures clash and beliefs are tested, Bethia’s voice guides readers through a luminous story of friendship, faith, and resilience.
