Join us on the 2nd Wednesday of the month for a fun, friendly discussion of diverse selections of historical fiction titles. Meet new friends, enjoy a love of books, or share a recent read from the comfort of your own space. This month we will be discussing Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See.
In 19th-century China, women in a remote Hunan county created a secret language called nu shu to communicate despite their isolation. Lily and Snow Flower become lifelong friends—laotongs—after exchanging messages on a silk fan. Through famine, rebellion, and the trials of marriage and motherhood, their bond offers comfort and strength. But a misunderstanding threatens to unravel their deep connection.
