Sugar Skull Workshop

Event description

Learn about the traditional Mexican art of making sugar skulls for Día de Muertos to honor those who have passed. Using the materials provided, you will then make, decorate, and take home your own sugar skull!

For children ages 6 and up. Registration is required.

Amaranta Ibarra-Sandys is a South Seattle based Visual Artist and Creative Director of ArtMaranth Mobile School. She is a graduate of Ceramics and Mexican Folk Art from Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes in Mexico City.

Aprenda sobre el arte tradicional mexicano de hacer calaveras de azúcar para el Día de Muertos, en honor a quienes ya no están. Usando los materiales provistos, creará, decorará y se llevará a casa su propia calavera de azúcar.

Para niños de 6 años en adelante. Se requiere inscripción.

Amaranta Ibarra-Sandys es una artista visual y directora creativa de ArtMaranth Mobile School, que reside en el sur de Seattle. Se graduó en Cerámica y Arte Popular Mexicano en el Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes de la Ciudad de México.
