This is a very insightful, well researched and relevant book even after Shakespeare was publish 400 yrs ago. It is amazing how his written works have been interpreted to represent whatever the reader/producer desires. Very interesting that the tolerance of different themes has ebbed and flowed over many years. Just a snippet of Julius Caesar production at the Delacorte theater in NYC in 2017. JC is depicted as Donald Trump and is slain. It doesn't take long before right wing media jumps in and has death threats being hurled at the actors, producer etc. Very scary world where people can be mobilized to hate w/o any first hand knowledge for what they condemn.
