Like its sequels, the detective and actual adventure part of the story is great. I'd say I loved the book, but then we come to the characters....twelve (or is it 11? I think it might be) year old girls who spend as much time mooing over some dude as they do solving mysteries. I don't care about little girl's 'love lives' and seriously believe that it detracts from the story. It tried to make the little detectives too grown up, which was annoying, because they're better at math than I am. Although if you've never understood the Pythagorean Theorem, read this book, because that's part of the exciting part of it. All in all, the puzzle-solving was good.
