The real Thursday Next is missing, so her fictional counterpart is called to replace her in order to secure some book world peace talks. All while trying to keep her five books running in the face of an uprising from the secondary characters. And finding what happened to the real Thursday before it's too late. Once again, Fforde blows apart his own world building and puts it back together in an even more interesting way. We see the literary Thursday tried to negotiate with a Pickwick that is less cute and more uppity. And it works. You are engaged and fall in love with this new version as much as you were the old. Great book.
