Okay, I have to admit, I was really looking forward to reading this. Being the former pianist I am, Lucy's actions at the beginning were very relatable. I felt like I understood her need to quit. I couldn't stop reading the beginning, because I liked it so much. It was simple, relatable, and well written. Unfortunately, I can't say the same about the middle and ending. I just couldn't understand why she did some of the things she did! More characters were introduced, leading to more conflicts as well!. And I can't say that they were all resolved. Her actions just made her seem stupid, selfish, and childish- not the inspirational, thoughtful girl the author was shooting for. They say it's good for characters to change throughout a book, but in this case, the change was simply too much for me! The ending was way more complex and confusing than it should've been. I ended up hating Lucy, the same character I first compared myself to!! What started out as relatable, interesting, and a good read overall, ended up as confusing, boring, and a nightmare overall.
