When I saw in the description that this book was similar to Terry Pratchett book, I was in. However, this book is nothing like a Pratchett book. There are some people who are naturally funny and their humor seems effortless and clever and adds to the conversation/story. That is Pratchett. On the other hand, there are some who want to be funny and you can see the effort so much that it's hard to watch. That is this book. I only read about 90 pages and poo and poo related jokes were made regularly and at every possible opportunity. I liked many of the story ideas and some of the twists, like a pixie who is ugly rather than cute, a Dark Lord who is kind of a good guy, and a Conan type character that is a women. However, the writing was frustrating. For example, there is a paragraph that is over a page long that just lists out foods laid out on the table for a feast. Then, the story goes character by character for another couple pages to list what dishes each person chose. This is not funny or entertaining. It added nothing to the story. This book needed some editing. If you want something funny to read I recommend "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" or "Color of Magic".
