I decided to read Lilly Singh's book after it won first place in the 2017 Goodreads Awards Non-fiction category. Although I don't follow Lilly and haven't watched her videos, I'm glad that I chose to read her book, which offers very practical advice on accomplishing your goals and becoming the best version of yourself. I even completed the activities at the end of chapters 8, 24, and 46 because each of these chapters resonated with me in a unique way. However, I'd be lying if I said that the rest of the book didn't.
This is a book that I would have love to have read during my senior year of college; maybe even as early as my junior year. What I appreciate about How To Be A Bawse is that Lilly doesn't try to convince you to be someone that you're not, but rather gives you the building blocks for becoming successful in your own way; while also challenging you to look within at what is holding you back from becoming who you are meant to be. Although she & I are the same age, I took a lot away from her book and have already recommended it to other people.
