Regarded by many as the pinnacle of Hercule Poirot’s exploits, Murder on the Orient Express presents a mystery of fascinating proportions. The facts of the case are unbelievably puzzling: a man found dead in his own room, aboard a train stuck amidst a snowstorm, with the perpetrator on-board. Poirot’s meticulous investigation reveals one surprising turn after another, with every possible lead inevitably pointing to another problem. Between themes of mortality and the fickle nature of revenge, Christie manages to present a thrilling twist at every turn. I loved reading through this novel, and I’m sure anyone else would feel the same. This iteration of Hercule Poirot is perhaps his peak, and his magnificent display of detective expertise rivals the stunning twist at the heart of the novel itself.
