(*Attention! Spoiler Alert!*)..... If nothing else - This 1933 movie certainly gave me a very clear picture of just how much blacks hate blacks. And, with that out in the open - I now believe that their deep-rooted racism against each other is far worse than any prejudice that the likes of whites could ever dish out towards them. Featuring a 95% black cast - The Emperor Jones not only had blacks (with black slaves) selling other blacks to whites as slaves - But it also showed me just how willing and ready a black man was to womanize, as well as cheat and kill another black just for the sake of a lousy buck. Filled to overflowing with black stereotypes galore, such as - Shoe-shine boys, voodoo worshippers (praising a white god), and dice-crazy gambling-addicts - I'm actually very surprised that no scene featuring a watermelon-eating contest was included here to round off this totally racist equation completely. Considering that this film is now 82 years old - I was also very shocked to hear how often blacks (not whites) used the N-word to address their fellow black brothers in the most hateful and humiliating way imaginable. All-in-all - I found The Emperor Jones to be one of the most ugly and distasteful movie-experiences (regarding in-your-face racism) that I've seen in a mighty long time.
