This is my favorite comic book. I have read volumes 1-4. The artwork is unlike any other GN I have ever read - it gives an impression of uncleanliness that is subtle and perfectly suited to the story. The premise is brilliant - scrawny main character Tony Chew receives a telepathic impression from every bite of food - or anything else - that he eats. Employed by the FDA to fight crime in a futuristic United States with his burly partner, he gets wrapped up in an international chicken smuggling ring, chases down illegal and unsafe chicken substitutes, and hunts down his evil ex-boss. The characters are all so different from the average comic book hero, villain, and love interest that they instantly won my affection. The gross stuff Tony has to eat to solve mysteries will keep you on the edge of your seat if the quick-witted plot twists don't. Also, his love affair is adorable and his personal history touching. Very highly recommended.
