At the center of the Story is a baby, the child upon whom everything will depend. Every story whispers his name. From Noah to Moses to the great King David---every story points to him. He is like the missing piece in a puzzle---the piece that makes all the other pieces fit together. From the Old Testament through the New Testament, as the Story unfolds, children will pick up the clues and piece together the puzzle. A Bible like no other, The Jesus Storybook Bible invites children to join in the greatest of all adventures, to discover for themselves that Jesus is at the center of God's great story of salvation---and at the center of their Story too.

This is the best children's bible I've ever found.
Most children's bibles consist mostly of stories from the Old Testament and the way they portray the stories completely misses the point. When they tell stories about Moses, Noah, David and Goliath, Daniel and the Lions' Den, they often justify violence (which God actually grieves over) and neglect the symbolism and elements of the stories that are intended to point to Jesus.
We read the bible to learn about Jesus, and this bible does an amazing job of highlighting the parts of the scriptures that do that. It is also well written, phrased in a way that is easy to understand yet beautifully worded.
This one should be a staple in all households looking for a bible for kids!

A great bible for children. The illustrations are interesting and inspire questions to talk about. I love the idea of bringing each story of the Bible into the perspective of God's big plan for all of human history. Each story in the Old Testament refers to Jesus. For example the story of Abraham and Isaac points out in a readable and understandable way the symbolism of the sacrificial lamb and how Jesus would come to take away the sins of the world. The writing is engaging and easy for children to understand.
