Avon the snail and Edward, a take-charge ant, set off together on a journey to an undetermined destination in search of unspecified adventures. Avon the snail has never had an adventure. And adventure, he has heard, is the key to a happy life. So with his new friend Edward the ant, Avon sets out on a journey to find the excitement his life has been missing. The travelers meet all manner of wise, weird, and intriguing creatures--including a dragon!--and it's not long before their adventures begin. In the tradition of such classics as The Little Prince, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, and Winnie-the-Pooh, this completely original story--a modern fable for our time--brims with wit, wisdom, and profound insights about the meaning of things ... great and small.

I read this with my almost 7yo who enjoyed the story though I am not sure he understood the silliness, though I tried to explain. I quite enjoyed it though :)

A very silly story. It can be silly in a fun way if readers understand the silliness and don't take Avon and Edward's perspective on things too seriously.

okay this book was my favorite book when i was like ten. It is really short and looking back kind of stupid but i could read it about seven times in one day back then. I would recommend it if you would like something to just read on the way to bellingham or something. A good read. hahaha every time i read it I always laugh at myself for loving something so simple.

:)

have a perfect washington weather day.
