My copy of the DVD was scratched up so it got stuck at a few places. Also, the film is over 10 years old and was shot with a handheld camera, so the video quality on this DVD is poor. In spite of all these, the film is still an interesting arthouse piece. I enjoyed it. (And it has nothing to do with Japan).

It is hard for me to comprehend why this movie won prestigious awards. The only noteworthy emotion it evoked in me is admiration mixed with pity for the Indian widow and her accepting nature. But all in all I got very little out of this barely watchable film.
