this was a great beginning to a series. I think Gwen having a gypsy gift and being an outcast really hits home with young folk trying to find themselves. I also love all the greek mythology woven throughout the book. Im not so sure how I feel about the norse mythology coming into play, but so far so good. the book dosent focus too much on teen age angst, but it does hit on things that teenagers with newish hormones would be thinking about.

If you like strong female characters, magic and mystery you might like this book too

This is seriously the worst book I have ever read! The writing is awful and the characters are SUPER cliche. Read at your own risk.

I liked the main character, Gwen...she seemed pretty relateable and cool. I liked the whole story and main characters, although I felt there was a bit too much explaining at times (like when the evil guy starts a speech on how and why he did everything). I am really looking forward to seeing what happens in the rest of this series.

Before I read this novel, I thought I was over my paranormal teen romance phase of my middle school years. Yet, I decided to read this because of good review from blogs and whatnot. After I read the first page, I was hooked and finished it in one sitting. I think the main reason why I enjoyed this novel so much was because of how different it was from most paranormal novels. For one thing, it has to do with mythology and gods, and not vampires or wolves. Another thing, the main character is a kick ass heroine who initially dislikes the main love interest, instead of a pathetic, swoony girl who instantly falls in love with him. All in all, it was a perfect balance of humor, romance, and above all, mystery. I can't wait to read the next one in the series.
