The Book That Inspired The Movie My name is Tucker Max, and I am an asshole. I get excessively drunk at inappropriate times, disregard social norms, indulge every whim, ignore the consequences of my actions, mock idiots and posers, sleep with more women than is safe or reasonable, and just generally act like a raging dickhead. But, I do contribute to humanity in one very important way: I share my adventures with the world. --from the IntroductionActual reader feedback: I find it truly appalling that there are people in the world like you. You are a disgusting, vile, repulsive, repugnant, foul creature. Because of you, I don't believe in God anymore. No just God would allow someone like you to exist. I'll stay with God as my lord, but you are my savior. I just finished reading your brilliant stories, and I laughed so hard I almost vomited. I want to bring that kind of joy to people. You're an artist of the highest order and a true humanitarian to boot. I'm in both shock and awe at how much I want to be you. Now with 16 Pages of Photos and a New Introduction

I'm mad at myself for how much I cracked up at this book

Terrible and repetitive, and sexist to boot. Rather than read this, go out and get drunk with your friends; make your own stories. There's really nothing special about this guy's drunk stories.
Side note: i have an excellent sense of humor and i'm not a prude

This book is a bunch of fairly repetitive stories about a guy getting wasted, getting laid and being an asshole. I was interested in reading this because I don’t know anyone like this but it seems like there are a lot of them in the world. Almost all of the stories involve him having sex with women he’s said really horrible things to either before or after the act. Also: expect lots of body fluids.

Most of these stories didn’t ring true for me and the author says they’re true but they’re the kinds of stories that can’t really be fact checked. That being said, I never lost interest and kept turning the pages. I even snickered a couple times.

I think what interested me was the idea that this guy was never anything other than exactly what he was. He didn’t modify his personality for anyone and there is something to be admired about that. There is nothing really to be admired in anything he does. There’s an element of “Well if he can be who he is and get through life, why do so many of us try so hard to change things about ourselves and/or beat ourselves up for the ‘negative’ aspects of our personalities?”

I’m not going to start being a mean drunk or anything but there is an undeniable thread of something almost inspirational running through this book. Although, I think that depends how easily offended one is. Looking at it from a different angle, this book is also the egotistical ranting of an angry, messed-up, lady-hating douchebag. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it, but if you’re in the mood for Dude-oriented tales of drunken debauchery complete with body fluids and Farrelly-esque gross outs, or you’re just curious what goes on in the mind of a Maxim magazine reader, then check out this book.

I'm not sure I believe all his stories. I may have smiled a few times, but never a laugh out loud moment. I found it repetitive and silly, but still finished the book.

One of my favorite books! I've read it over and over again. Cannot wait until his next, "Assholes Finish First"

Short, raunchy read - some of these essays are available on his website. Tucker Max is not the best writer - but the situations are so outrageous - it makes the book entertaining. A good book to read on days you just want to turn your brain off.

Darren is write. It's written badly, the guy is a jerk not clever or smart or funny.

If you want a 20-something guy telling you all about how nasty he is and giving all the nasty bits about his sexual adventures in a self-confessional "Look how horrible I am. I will burn in hell" format, you may enjoy this book.

Personally? After the shock value wore off, it got boring quick. It's been done before, and done funnier. If you want it more high-brow, stick with the Marquis de Sade. If you want it more modern, any episode of the Family Guy is funnier--and with pictures!

Terribly written. A few funny stories but nothing clever or new. Just some drunken debauchery.
