Andreas arrives in a strange city with no memory of how he got there. He is presented with a job and an apartment, but before long, Andreas notices that something is wrong. The people around him seem cut off from any real emotion and communicate only in superficialities. He makes an attempt to escape from the city, but he discovers there is no way out. Andreas meets a man who has found a crack in a wall in his cellar. Beautiful music streams out from the crack, but from where?

This may well be the worst, and most annoying, film I have EVER seen. Not sure what was worse, the incessant squeaking of the blowing sign or the amplified sounds of the mindless couple at the subway. Completely annoying waste of time, should have trusted my instinct to turn it off....

An intriguing film - if you find your mind wandering about 15 minutes in, and are considering turning it off, try to focus and hang in there. There's definitely a rhythm to it, and you have to let yourself find it. Very well acted. A lot of what-ifs to think about afterward.
p.s. If you're squeamish, there are a couple of scenes where you'll want to look away, and you'll have some warning. They are essential to the plot, though.

This is the weirdest movie about a dystopia that I have seen in awhile. I am left with only my thoughts. Thoughts of why the weird drop off point in the middle of nowhere, the perfection of everything leading to a sterile world lacking emotion, the obsessiveness to get through the crack to the other side where things smell so damn good. Oddest thing yet was the bus ride at the end, where we are left knowing no more than that there's a bright light at the end of the crap bus ride in the luggage compartment.

I cannot figure out if this is a commentary on the socialist bent of Scandinavian Society where everything is equalized, or more about the need to needle at what happens if you give someone everything they want. Would they indeed find happiness? This movie was most definitely, intriguing, annoying, and strange.

This is a film with a surreal component. I never know what was real and what was not. Enjoyable for its story line and the depiction of characters in a society that probably does not exist in reality. Interesting.

A surreal look at a man who doubts his existence while finding that his identity is not in question ... or is it?

Totally and delightfully weird. Great undiscovered absurd social satire.

A very clever film satirizing the sterile impersonal environments we create for ourselves. Extremely odd and mildly disturbing, though very charming.

These weird Norweigan movies have a way of growing on you.
This is an interesting well filmed movie... if you're a fan of Scandinavian movies.
