Yeah, sure, it's our scene, but *SNORE.....
This seems to be one of those home-spun documentaries where the folks making it barely have a clue as to what they're doing, and where they usually goof up is with editing. Too much material that should have been CUT OUT. Too slow, too much drag, too much content that doesn't matter.
Interesting, but rather predictable as far as what they would show the fans to be.
Thank you, Franna. As a serious fan myself, I was going to give this one a spin. Thanks for saving me that time.
These "Trekkies" are a dedicated bunch. I think the film would have been better with a host or narrator, but the segments still managed to flow together.
The production quality isn't the best and there may be a better DVD on this subject matter somewhere out there. But the culture in itself is so interesting and the stories so intriguing and IMO memorable that a looksie at this DVD wouldn't be the worst way to spend an hour and a half of your time.
i'm afraid i found this to be very boring. if they were trying to prove that star wars fans are not weird, i think they unfortunately failed. i'm a huge star wars fan myself and was disappointed in this documentary. it focused way too much on a few fanatical collectors and a few celeb interviews. i felt obligated to watch the whole thing as a star wars fan and wish i hadn't wasted my time.
