This book was slow at first, but after the first 50 or so pages, I felt that the story really picked up and was really interesting and it turned into a page-turner for me. I really liked this book. I will admit that Love and Shame and Love may not be for everybody, but I really enjoyed it. I loved the family dynamics in play; it really reminded me of my own family. So give this book a try if you're looking for a good read.

And don't let the number of pages fool you - a lot of pages have just one or two paragraphs printed on them, so the 500+ page count is very deceiving.
