Little things mean a lot to ten-year-old Mui, who is trained to be a house servant in Vietnam during the '50s. As she grows up in pre-war Saigon, she finds quiet love with a family friend. As she discovers the world around her, Mui marvels at every sight, sound, and scent she experiences while going about her workday life.

The cinematography is so very beautiful. Colours were vibrant and overtaking -- before HDef.
I saw it twice and am asking for it again. Very little subtitles bur they<re really not necessary except for telling the story.

Different kind of movie. In Vietnamese and in that culture. Not sure how the initial story transitions into the last part of the story, it seemed disconnected. The summary mentions romance, although it just seems that a poor ignorant servant is pressured and then gives in. Didnt really see any build up of romance, but might be missing something as I dont understand Vietnamese
