Highly recommended - how can I not recommend a Titanic book that starts with the sinking, as opposed to a 50,000-word essay on Edwardian manners? However, it's probably not the first book you should read on the subject - it does jump around a bit.

Charles Pellegrino's books can be wildly uneven in quality. This is one of the good ones. His writing is extremely moving, and the cast of characters (including James Cameron, a firefighter victim of the World Trade Center attacks, and the people --including ghosts--of the TITANIC--makes this book well worth reading. I intend to purchase a copy.
