I cannot praise the book enough. The perfect depiction of a teenager's thought process was evident in Meloy's writing as Janie. I felt this rapid beating inside me every page I turned. I mourned with the characters, laughed with the characters, and endured through the struggles alongside my newfound friends. Every moment was boldly accentuated with Maile Meloy's brilliant plot twists and unique sequence no one would expect. As with the great feel I have for Harry Potter, the book highlights whim and fantasy, but also presents the story more elegantly and maturely. I was hooked, reading it for a few hours before bed then waking up and heading straight to the book without breakfast. Best 6hrs of my life! I highly recommend.

An American girl, an alchemist in training, and a street-wise thief get involved with kidnapping, murder and a plot to detonate a nuclear bomb. This is a great adventure novel.

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mystery, a bit of magic, romance, humour, suspense....
I also love how all the cold war stuff is incorporated.
If you like reading, than just read it, okay?
