The good news is that this awful, star-filled, and unintentionally funny film has been restored to its original cut in 2016 and will be released on DVD and Blu-ray.
Meanwhile, don't bother watching this awful public domain DVD from American Pop Classics. It's been copied from a video transfer imprinted with the 'Film Chest' logo in color. At times the 'Film Chest' logo appears imprinted on Gina Lollobrigida's chest--an unintentionally funny special effect.

Loved it. Movie makes fun of film noir. Peter Lorre steals the show.

This movie was so godawful terrible it was wonderful. Every character was memorable; put together they made up a hodge-podge of misaligned parts. It is the only Bogart movie I've ever seen that made me laugh all the way through. For me, it had more quotable lines than any Bogart movie 'v ever seen. So see it - but remember, it's all in your expectations

Not a film I plan to ever return to. Annoying at times actually. Great cast -- empty content. Lots of bickering -- period.

Considering the incredible talent involved (Bogart, Huston, Capote), this is something of a disappointment.

Very well done movie. A pleasure to watch. I would recommend this movie for all to see. No fast forwarding on this one. A++ DVD

This movie was not the best with Humphrey Bogart-yet it still was a good movie. Jennifer Jones plays a wonderfully devilish part (no pun intended), as a sneaky wife. Okay movie-give it four stars.
