National Geographic Explorer Dan Buettner has traveled the globe to uncover the best strategies for longevity found in the Blue Zones, places in the world where higher percentages of people enjoy remarkably long, full lives. Buettner's colossal research has taken him from Costa Rica to Italy to Japan and beyond. In the societies he visits, it's no coincidence that the way people interact with each other, shed stress, nourish their bodies, and view their world yield more good years of life.

"Latest thinking concerning health, happiness, and longevity"? Not quite.
This is not a scientific work on longevity, simply a journalistic account, with certain clear biases. For instance, the author maintains that religion is a factor of longevity, but he chooses specifically religious "blue zones", such as a California Adventists town, or peasant populations in religious countries (Italy, Costa Rica) without ever seeking blue zones in non-religious environments.
There are other, much more valid works on the subject.
