Like an old family cookbook with great recipes, librarian, Nancy Pearl, has whipped up a desirable book to suggest book titles for any reader. "More Book Lust" is the follow-up to "Book Lust" offering—as the subtitle says—“reading recommendations for every mood, moment, and reason.” Described more as a companion than a sequel to "Book Lust" the writer's categories jump from “Girl Guides…” to “Dick Lit” (urban men), to “Space Opera” (science fiction loaded with drama) to “Poetry Pleasers.” Including book recommendations from fellow librarians and others, the book covers fiction and non-fiction with a long reach of stories in various geographical locations. Lively written, Pearl’s comprehensive compilation also quickly adds if "Book Lust" has a related entry. It is a joy for bibliophiles.

This book brings in a lot of books that were missing from its predecessor as well as fleshing out entries that may have gotten only a line or two in “Book Lust”. It also contains a helpful encapsulation of the books that make up the Dewey Decimal series (although there is no mention of where romances, science fiction and other fictional novels stand within its entries). I’m glad to have both books, however. There are both helpful guides as to what books to pull next from the To Be Read pile.

Although I didn’t enjoy this one as much as the first, she still managed to enlarge my wish list. I liked the manner in which she describes each book, neither giving away too much or too little. Unfortunately many of the books she highly recommends are out of print and very difficult to track down.
