>... While it was interesting to see short stories from old masters like Chandler, the best part of this anthology for me was an introduction to the work of William Campbell Gault. If you like "The Kerman Kill," be sure to check out Gault's full length novel, "The Bloodstained Bokhara."
>... Available in hard copy in the Multnomah Library system, Gault's intelligent and crisp writing earns 5ive stars. Although not all of his locations are true to life, there is enough of real Milwaukee Wisconsin in this book to make it worthy of following the action on Google Maps and Streets to recapture a feel for the 1953 setting.
>... Also of note is Gault's knowledge of Persian rug history, which makes for an interesting side jaunt for googling.
