Add a CommentI read this book in under a week! Quick page Turner with a lot of detail. Definitely a story that grabs your attention within a couple short chapters.
Easily likeable and definitely something I'll suggest to friends.

Okay, I am used to the missing spouse in thrillers, but a wife who is distressed not because her husband is missing, but because his body is not where she left it is a surefire way to get a reader into the book. What the reader will find a storyline with so many twists that at times you just must forget that little voice in your head that keeps saying “Oh, come on…. how could this possible happen?” This is an excellent start to debut author, Darby Kane’s writing.
What do you do when you discover videos of your husband grooming and abusing teenage girls? Lila faces that dilemma before the beginning of this book. Should she immediately report him? Or should she find a way to expose him that will not directly come from her? As she executes her plan of action, her husband disappears. Soon she finds that the investigation spotlight is squarely on her. In addition her favorite true crime podcast swings its focus onto her missing husband. Could his disappearance be connected to three missing area girls? This had some interesting twists and the last 1/3 of the book is riveting. I found the rest of the book meandered a bit, so am taking off a star for that. Would definitely be up for reading Darby Kane's next release.
