A devastating movie by the great Ken Loach. The blurb above sets the scene. What the gig economy does to people, the ongoing edge of poverty, no benefits, no set hours, split shifts, no time off, and a lot more. One small set-back and it all comes apart. This is British social realism but we have it here in the US--for example the books Maid, Nickel and Dimed come to mind. Maid is set on Camano and Nickle and Dimed is set in several states.

The Turner family is not going to win the lottery. While watching it I couldn't even begin to guess how it would end. It's a despairing movie so be forewarned.
