This is one of my favorite movies. It is one I will watch every couple of years or so and still feel the love for it.
An aging street performer is desperate to find an heir to continue his street magic and in his desperation buys an orphan boy. However things are not what they seem. A consequence of tradition and Chinese culture in the 30's, he must make decisions that change all of their lives.
Very well done, moving, and powerful.

This is one of the finest films of the past decade. A great story without sex or violence. A must see!
