I got a kick out of this story because Hazel could have been the Manic Pixie Dreamgirl she was set up to be, but she was more fleshed out, and thumbs up for having the male counterpart be Korean - really lovely to have some non white leads! It was a fun slow burn of a romance.

Pure fun! Six stars! Sparkling dialogue, some of the scenes are laugh out loud funny, 2 lovable mains, no tension, no angst, just beautifully written pure romantic fun. CL writes some of the best sex scenes in contemporary romance -- super sexy and yet they positively glow with love. Another CL winner!

Best contemporary romance novel I've read in a long time - funny, touching, and sexy. Fabulous dialogue and characters so real it's easy to become very invested. Josh seemed unattainable, but an irresistible draw to Hazel when they were in college. Six years later he's suddenly back in her life, and in her usual brash way, she's determined to become best friends since she's positive the difference in their temperaments would likely make any romantic entanglement a humongous disaster. Determined to coax him out of the funk he's in following a humiliating break-up, she offers to set him up on a series of blind dates, which he will only agree to if she comes along with guys he selects for her. Hilarity ensues.

This is a humourous contemporary adult romance. Most of the humor comes from the heroine Hazel, her inappropriate language and actions. I did get turned off by her in the first chapter. Hazel has a heart of gold, and her actions win me over later. The story is sweet. I like that Josh and Hazel's relationship develop organically over a few months, not suddenly over a week. Okay, it is a love at first sight on Hazel's part, but it is more of a friend and lover development on Josh's part. I recommend it. It is one of the better romance novels.

What a politically incorrect trainwreak novel for us rubbernecking fans.

My best friend suggested I read this book. She said I’d understand why soon enough. And she was not wrong! Absolutely LOVED this book!!! Could not put it down and finished it the same night I started it!!!! Once I opened it I did not close it until I finished it. I missed sleep and stayed up all night reading it. I found myself laughing out loud many times while reading it and being so excited about what’s around the corner that I was peeking at the next page!!! I also found that I’ve never related to a character more than I relate with Hazel. Which is exactly what my best friend knew!! She said I am Hazel, without a shadow of doubt. I want more of Hazel and Josh!!!!

A New & Noteworthy pick. This book is just plain fun! Two friends from college set each other up on progressively worse double blind dates. Because they are definitely not dating! Until they are.

Loved, loved, loved this book. The title obviously gives the ending away, but the journey is so much fun!

After loving CL's previous book (Love and Other Words,) I was ready for another experience like that one. Although this wasn't of the same vein or caliber, I still enjoyed it quite a bit and found it compulsively readable. After the first chapter or two, I was concerned that Hazel's initial manic behavior would wear on me over the course of the book, but she was ultimately refreshing with a strong sense of self as well as imperceptible vulnerabilities. I also loved Josh's character and together they were golden. Josh was the chocolate to Hazel's peanut butter and their slow burn romance was entertainingly written with poignant and lol moments. The biggest flaws to me were some of the romantic cliches within the story, but with exceptional characters and terrific banter I'm able to overlook them and simply enjoy the story.
