As I read this I tried to picture how the author managed to keep track of all the details and how he kept track of the perspectives of the different people involved in hosting the body. I am glad I persevered to the end. The story was original with lots of twists. Even if it wasn’t my favorite book, I applaud the author for creativity.

Solid 3.5 stars rounded up to 4 for storyline creativity!
I loved the uniqueness of this mystery - it was well crafted and extremely outside of your typical mystery novel. You really have to use your imagination to follow the storyline.
One of the downfalls I had with this book was that there were A LOT of characters to keep track of and you will need to constantly check the cast of characters referenced in the beginning of the book - it was almost too much for me to keep up with. The revealed mystery conclusion wasn't a jaw dropper - I was expecting a more shock value as to the "who dunnit" was.
If you are needing a book cleanse of your typical genre, I highly recommend giving this quirky book a try!

There is so much I could say about this book and yet I feel kind of stumped about what to say. It's Agatha Christie in the Twilight Zone. It's a very interesting read and a very unique concept - the author himself describes it as a "time-travel, body-hopping, murder-mystery novel". There are A LOT of characters in the book and I struggled at times to keep them straight (thankfully there is a key). When I finished the book, I felt tempted to read it again and take copious notes of who did what in which character and to backtrack and figure out my unanswered questions and things I had missed (like why did Felicity do what she did?) but I decided to just leave it as it left me. As I wrote that last part I realized that that's also kind of a theme of the book - crazy!

Rather weird, rather long, very convoluted

Each time the narrator wakes up he is inhabiting a different body. For me this book is kind of reminiscent of Agatha Christie murder mysteries. It takes place at an out of the way home with lots of suspicious characters and you never really know what's going on. That, for me, was it's downfall. I felt like I was confused about what was going on much of the time. Maybe that was the idea...but for me this book was more like work than something to relax and enjoy.

This is possibly one of the most intriguing novels I have ever read. Filled with a cast of characters that are hard to imagine to be in one place. Aiden Bishop finds himself in the body of different hosts as he tries to find out the answer to the mystery of who killed Evelyn Hardcastle. As the story progresses more questions arise, more things are revealed as he lives the same day over and over and over again searching for the final answer. But when the why and wherefore of the whole journey is revealed your mind will be blown. Intense and indescribable this is a book that you will want to read again to see how many clues you may have missed along the way. If you love a great mystery you will love this book and be captured by the concept, the characters and the plot. wOw!!!!!

If you like twisty, convoluted mysteries with narrators who are as confused as you are, this may be your cup of tea. It plays on the classic country house murder story with a "Groundhog Day" twist - our narrator keeps reliving the day of the murder from different perspectives.

Very unusual high concept mystery. Super intricate plot: the reader experiences the same day leading up to the murder many times as the main character jumps from body to body. Yes, it’s weird, but also fascinating. Also, really good!

A New & Noteworthy Best of 2018 pick. Evelyn Hardcastle will die. Aiden Bishop is trapped in a “Groundhog Day” cycle where he needs to solve the murder. Every day he inhabits a different body to gather clues. A convoluted conundrum of a mystery, and you’re going to love it!
