"Vice President Joe Biden is fresh out of the Obama White House and feeling adrift when his favorite railroad conductor dies in a suspicious accident, leaving behind an ailing wife and a trail of clues. To unravel the mystery, "Amtrak Joe" re-teams with the only man he's ever fully trusted--the 44th president of the United States. Together they'll plumb the darkest corners of Delaware, traveling from cheap motels to biker bars and beyond, as they uncover the sinister forces advancing America's opioid epidemic. Part noir thriller and part bromance novel, Hope Never Dies is essentially the first published work of Obama/Biden fanfiction--and a cathartic read for anyone distressed by the current state of affairs."--Amazon.com.

A ridiculous and fun romp.

Almost as much fun as the cover art. Come for the mystery, stay for the bromance. A fun read regardless of your political inclinations, this book never takes itself (or it's famous characters) too seriously. The world needs more famous politician buddy-sleuth books.

Cute and silly. Makes me happy because the bros are back together!

The cover alone makes the book worth picking up. Inside, you will find a Joe Biden who is both sympathetic and replete with human foibles, and is enjoyable enough to read about. However, the book struggles to balance the lighthearted with the serious and is less than graceful about its dark turns. It manages to be both sillier and grimmer than expected

This book is not great literature, but if you are a fan of Barack Obama and/or Joe Biden, this book will make you smile—even laugh out loud! The story is told from the perspective of Joe Biden, who rode the Amtrak train from Delaware into DC for many years while serving in the US Senate. He finds out that his favorite Amtrak conductor has been hit by a train while lying on the tracks. At the time of his death, the conductor was in possession of a map showing Joe Biden’s home. Barack Obama drops in to Biden’s home to tell him what happened. Biden feels compelled to investigate, and he ropes in Obama to help.

I do not know Joe Biden personally (of course), but this book portrays him as a good and decent man who tries to do the right thing, even if he is impulsive at times.

This book is light and a fast read, but it is enjoyable, and it is fun to see the interaction between Biden and Obama. Yes, it is kind of silly, but I enjoyed it. It made me feel good!

I really wanted to love this book, but the memes come to life wore on me after awhile. A fun and quick read but isn't anything spectacular.

Best thing about the book is the cover. The satire quickly wears thin and the story is even less substantial. And by half way through, it's simply ridiculous. Don't waste your time.

It's the ultimate bromance of our times that has to then solve a mystery - it is the best antidote to this, the darkest timeline. Anyone who misses the Obama/Biden days of yore will enjoy this book. It's extremely entertaining.

A fun and enjoyable read. Written in the first person in the voice of Joe Biden, the author captures not just voice of the former Vice President but his personality as well. You almost think it was Biden himself telling this story. And the 44th President of the United States acquits himself well as sleuth and sidekick to Joe Biden. Ready for another caper featuring this daring duo! Highly recommend.

Crazy-fun diversion for those in despair over the current so-called president. Biden and Obama's prickly bromantic banter provides plenty of laughs as do images such as "Barack had a sawed-off shotgun balanced casually on his shoulder." A brisk and hilarious read!
