Add a CommentOne of the most enjoyable movies I've seen. Love Spencer and Hepburn together, and this is one of their best.
Excellent chemistry between the cast in this witty comedy satirizing technology in the workplace.
Very enjoyable film with SMART women, and a peek into computers and data processing. The only downside is that it's "just" a comedy.
VERY GOOD 1957 color film (released as His Other Woman in the UK) with Tracy at age 57 and Hepburn at 50. Other cast members are also fun to watch. Susan Randall really caught my eye as reference desk worker Ruthie.
Excellent cinematography and sets as camera follows the cast around in large office building and elsewhere.
Also has interesting plot element with emergence of mainframe computer technology affecting human employment.
Katharine and Spencer make such a cute couple. It is easy to see why they were so successful together. The movie is cute nothing too special. But it is nice to look back at the technology back then compared to what we have today. Gig Young was a huge cad. I did not care for his character at all. Also, I loved Kate's wardrobe, everyone else's as well. This is one of the best dressed movies I have ever seen.
Rated 4/10. I found this to be rather undynamic and boring. Poor plotline.
Extremely whimsical and sweet, still relevant today about technology, its pros and cons. Katherine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy are a hit together as they normally are!
One of my all-time favourite movies - super acting (can't go wrong with Katherine Hepburn) and an entertaining plot (and sub-plot), which, while it is certainly a nostalgic look back at a time when life was simpler, remains very relevant for today.
Witty and amusing. The screenplay is clever, and the cast is excellent, especially, of course, Tracy and Hepburn. A prescient testament about how new technologies disrupt the workforce.
Very dated. Sort of a classic concept, like a somewhat screwball comedy, that was modernized to that time period (1957) .......and now seems out of touch when viewed. If done in the 1930's, it would be a classic, rather than a cute movie for the time period. The reason it even borders on classic at all, are because of the performances and chemistry between Hepburn & Tracy. The color photography is awesome. Society's and the cultural de-emphasis on Christmas in recent years is amazingly reflected.
