I loved this book! It is great for any age. The pacing is fantastic and you really get a feel for the characters within the story. The illustrations are beautiful. One of our main characters is nonbinary and it is a great representation of being enby. As small aside: It is clear the illustrator loves designing clothing as well and the designs had me grinning from ear to ear!

Graphic Novels can be hit or miss for me, as sometimes it can be difficult to fully develop a plot in condensed conversation bubbles. This book is not only hands down, my new favorite Graphic Novel, but also one of the greatest "feel good" stories I've ever read! By day, he is Prince Sebastian. By night, he is Lady Crystallia, the hottest fashion icon in Paris; all thanks to his brand new Seamstress who has a special eye for making beautiful things for beautiful people. It's a romantic fairy tail of a modern sort, that tells a story of identity, acceptance, friendship, and family.

This is a good book, and one of my favourites. Without even going into the social aspects of it, or inclusion, etc., it's just a good book.

The Prince and the Dressmaker is a lovely, refreshing take on the traditional fairy tale. An affirming story about self-identity, confidence, friendship, and love, this story speaks to all of us who have dreamed to be more, but felt like we needed to compromise our vision. Watching both Frances and Sebastian grapple with who they are and what is important to them is fun, but the climax is what really elevates this tale and makes it sublime. At that moment, I felt such deep yearning for this to be real history, and such resolve to make the present live up to this lofty vision.

Creative and beautifully illustrated. I'd highly recommend this one to anyone who likes graphic novels; they're just not my cup of tea.

Great topic. Very expressive art. A bit minimalist when it comes to dialogue, and while usually this isn't an issue, sometimes it is. Despite the thickness of the item, it's surprisingly short, and some of the plotpoints that are brought up aren't fully explored. It's a good read, but I feel like it could have been better. A sequel would be lovely.

Charming, expressive art tells the story of a secretly gender-fluid prince who sometimes secretly enjoys wearing dresses, and the skilled young seamstress he hires to create beautiful gowns for him. Their relationship is tested when it becomes clear that if she becomes too well-known, fulfilling her dressmaking dreams, it could put his secret and his future at risk. A touching story of two people exploring their identities, grappling with responsibilities, and discovering what is truly important to them.

Beautifully illustrated and with a message that never goes out of style 'The Prince and the Dressmaker' can be enjoyed by both novice and seasoned comic book readers. The comic follows the story of Frances, a budding fashion designer and Sebastian, a Prince with a flair for dramatics and style. Their story about friendship, love, and bucking social conformity is as refreshing as it is comforting. A must read!

Crown Prince Sebastian has a secret: he likes to wear pretty dresses. This charming colorful graphic novel has it all: gorgeous dresses and a cute modern romance set in turn of the century Paris.

Love wins. That's the message of this graphic novel set in a time when dressing as a woman could scandalously ruin a man's place in society. But for one dressmaker, it is a chance to bring her fashion forward designs to life - as long as she keeps his secret. A price that becomes too high to pay when fear of being found out causes the prince to make a terrible choice that hurts his most loyal companion. But as in the best of fairy tales, all is not lost, ultimately the prince and the dressmaker find ways to be true to themselves and to each other in this wonderfully illustrated tale of courage, acceptance, and love.

Some days I look at myself in the mirror and think "That's me, Prince Sebastian! I wear boy clothes and look like my father." Other days it doesn't feel right at all. Those days I feel like I'm actually...a princess.
