The book starts out with Stanley and his brother Arthur playing bullfights, with Stanley being the cape. Stanley has been flat ever since an enormous bulletin board over his bed fell on him one night while he was sleeping. With Stanley being flat, he could slide under doors and travel inexpensively through the mail. One day, Stanley’s mother needed a secret ingredient for a special recipe. She gets the idea to mail Stanley to Mexico to track down this secret ingredient and thus Stanley’s adventures begin, some of which are fun, some dangerous. Jeff Brown created Flat Stanley as a bedtime story for his sons. Josh Greenhut wrote Flat Stanley and lives with his wife and two children in Toronto. Well written, (in first person) and good pictures. Includes extra educational facts at the end of the book.
