They're the last people you'd ask to help with anything, much less a murder investigation. The rich girl, the obsessive, the hypochondriac, the addict and the hot-tempered athlete. Lost causes. But with the help of a dangerous serum, the FBI erases the teens' past problems and unlocks a psychic ability within each of them. In return, all they have to do is help find the killer who's turned their small town upside down.

I really enjoyed this novel. It captured me from the start. The way everything entwined together was amazing. The relationships built between the characters. The doubt, the certainty and the theories were all too great! The ending was even better, I didn’t expect that at all I just hope I’m not left hanging on this cliff hanger forever

The Lost Causes by Alyssa Embree Schwartz and Jessica Koosed Etting takes a detailed journey throughout the personal lives of five teens. Each has problems of their own and are the last ones you will think to be able to solve a murder investigation. With the help of FBI officers and powers given to the teens from a high-risk serum, they solved a mystery that will bring you to the edge of your seat. The development of each characters has a steady pace, it gives a different aspect of what the characters are thinking or doing. The best part is when they all work together, becoming friends or something more than that. I recommend this wonderful book to ages 10 and older.
