"In Tales of Two Americas, some of the literary world's most exciting writers look beyond numbers and wages to convey what it feels like to live in this divided nation. Their extraordinarily powerful stories, essays, and poems demonstrate how boundaries break down when experiences are shared, and that in sharing our stories we can help to alleviate a suffering that touches so many people."--Page 4 of cover.

The stories contained in this anthology are not meant as a panacea or even a polemic. They are notes from the field; recorded for their own sake in an effort to map the current economic landscape that is late capitalism.

Trickle down economics don't work - never have . . . never will. Stop voting for tax breaks for the top 10%. They don't need it. In the 50's and 60's some of them were taxed up to 90% and they were still super rich! The wealthy are raping the middle class.
