The author defines trust as a confident relationship with the unknown.

If you have any interest in the concept of trust, you will enjoy this clearly written, balanced account of how trust has quickly moved from trust in others to trust in institutions to our current fascination with trust in algorithms. I learned a lot about the darknet, uses of personal trust scores for all kinds of purposes, and how the block chain works. Highly recommended.
