Given the fascinating, controversial, and well-documented subject that Edgar Cayce is, this could have been a terrific book. Instead, hyper-detailed incidents roll on one after another with no focus. Where are the editors?

This is an excellent book, definitely the one to read. Exhaustive and detailed, not only is it an excellent recounting of the man's life, it's also a wonderful window into life in the southern U.S. at the start of the last century. It's filled with information on a variety of key readings topics. It's a much better book than you'd expect from the Publishers' Weekly review.
