I first read "The Forgotten Beasts of Eld" decades ago, and it's still as magical as ever. Patricia A. McKillip is one of my favourite fantasy authors, who weaves a spell with her words, characters, and story. And afterwards, as always, it's like waking up from a dream and realizing that it's over too soon. Highly recommended.

My favorite fantasy novel for young adults. Beautifully written, heart-breaking story of a young sorceress who learns what it means to love.
