A little pig in a big city leads to lots of trouble! Josie Shilling's family is too big, their cramped city house is too small, and she feels like no one is ever on her side. Then, on Thanksgiving Day, her older brother, Tom, brings home a pink, squirmy bundle wrapped in an old football jersey--a piglet he rescued from a nearby farm. Her name is Hamlet.

A touching and thoughtful story about a love for a pig, Hamlet, and how she brought a family closer together.
Told by the eleven-year-old daughter of how her life was enriched and pulled between a surprise on that fateful Thanksgiving Day, and a promise for New Years Day.
A semi -autobiographical story by the author, as she states that "the initial inspiration for this book was Ellie, an actual piglet that was the runt of a litter and the story of how my brother, Rich, saved her life and brought her home from college."
The author's "one of my all-time favourite books," is Charlotte's Web by E.B. White and "still gives me goose bumps that our two pig books share a publishing home."
