Since losing his wife, Adele, in a freak accident, Holton has been shut off from the world, making driftwood sculptures and drowning his pain in gin. Then twenty-three-year-old Libby knocks on his door, asking for a job and claiming to be a friend of his late wife. When Holton discovers Libby is actually Adele's illegitimate daughter, his life is turned upside down: the wife he'd given saint status to wasn't the woman he thought he knew. Holton and Libby form an unlikely bond to learn the truth about Adele, themselves, and each other.

Hope, restoration and forgiveness. It can't get any better from a Christian author.
The setting is on the beautiful, peaceful Outer Banks of North Carolina.
Gina Holmes has a way with her stories that make you feel like you are part of the story. Driftwood Tides is about is a story that will touch your heart. Holton is losing himself in drinking blaming himself for his wife's death five years before and the guilt drove him to drink. Libby is a young lady who finds out through a blood test before she is getting married that she is not her parents child. Her mother hands her adoption papers and Libby goes looking for her biological mother. When she thinks she has found her, she finds out she was killed 5 years before. She finds her biological mother's husband passed out in an inebriated state in his shack at Nags Head, NC. We are taken on the roller coaster adventure of her posing to be an intern to find out who her birth mother really was. And who was her biological father?
Gina Holmes weaves a story that is unforgettable.
Once I started reading the book I did not want to put it down.
