Begins as one of Affleck's better movies this year but doesn't end that way. Sometimes actors have a penchant to ensure that their characters walk away unscathed. Some may like that but it makes for predictable and unengaging movie fare when all is said and done.

A good story line. As I watched on a Sunday afternoon was a great movie. Don't take too much serious into the plot as you should "Suspense all disbeliefs" to enjoy!
Though the main character having Asperger syndrome is very interesting topic.
So now that might explain some people!

Violence was the first impression when I viewed the trailer. Then it displays how autism results in savant qualities through cultivation; in addition to revealing a caring for others; scene of mother's death, jail buddy death, coworker getting attacked, brother is the opposing gunperson. the Solomon rhythm; listen to that key in film story. The end of the film leaves it open to ??? to be continue. Appreciate that the violence and sex was tamed.
I have a better temperance of Autism when I see one on the street.

Not great but not too bad either. 2 stars for all of the action that takes place. And Ben Affleck played a good part.

This film isn't the best action movie out there, nor is it Affleck's greatest film, but it is different from many and has excellent entertainment value when looking for a good popcorn movie on a stay-at-home date night.

Reading all the comments, which do a good job of describing the movie, one point I think is missing. Although, the plot points out that the main character works for criminals helping make their illegal gains, legal through 'brilliant' accounting methods, I think it is a allegory. It is really pointing out about big companies that only think about profit over all other valves in life. The point is that family, honest friendship, and doing the right thing is what makes life worth living. Although, all of us have a hard time in the world today, especially making personal connections. Also, the individual is more valuable (no matter what their abilities are) than making money, even if it can help thousands of people. Unfortunately, the movie uses lots of violence as entertainment, which had a numbing effect. Lastly, I thought the whole movie was just an introduction to characters soon to be part of a TV or movie series. A nicely drawn out plot for a series, coming soon.

It has some redeeming features. Enough for me to keep watching but my finger was always close to the eject button. Another example of 'method' acting in which word enunciation has given way to whispering. The female 'hero' ( the girl from the finance dept ) was almost impossible follow; she spoke quickly in what sounded like a foreign language. Not a classic 'keeper' and I wouldn't bother to watch it again.

1 in 68 children in this country are diagnosed with a form of autism. But if you can put aside for a moment what your pediatrician and all the other NT's have said about your son...
Neuro-typicals. The rest of us. What if we're wrong? What if we've been using the wrong tests to quantify intelligence in children with autism? Your son's not less-than. He's different. Now, your expectations for your son may change over time, they might include marriage, children, self-sufficiency. They might not. But I guarantee you. If we let the world set expectations for our children, they'll start low and they'll stay there. Maybe your son is capable of much more than you know. And maybe... Just maybe... He doesn't understand how to tell us. Or... we haven't yet learned how to listen.
I was trying to connect. I think no matter how different, we're all trying to do the same thing.

Some of my clients are...quite dangerous.
-I kind of consider fairly dangerous myself.
Well, you've made an improvement.
Say you're the head of the Sinaloa Cartel. Now the cartels count their money in eighteen wheelers. But one sunny Mexican day, your in-house money scrubber comes to you and says you're 30 million light. Who can you trust to do the forensic accounting to track your stolen cash? Deloitte & Touche? H & R Block?
Dolores, when you order supplies, do you order online?
-I don't, I just run over to the beads store.
-I drive, the truck.
The company truck.
Well, initially he was just stealing and garden-variety taxes evasion. But he came up with a better idea. You see, by taking his own money, stealing it and putting it back on his books. It was raining cash. He took the company public at eight dollars a share. A year later it was trading at seventy-five.
